Email/TFTP parameters
As an alternative to connecting a printer to the Computer & Printer Interface (fitted to the control panel) and printing events, you can program the Universal Interface to output the printer events as data files and to send the files to email address(es) or to a TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) server address.
1
Click Email/TFTP Parameters in the Network Setup section of the Universal Interface menu.
2
To use email, type at least one email address. Use additional email addresses if you want to send email to more than one recipient. Leave all email addresses blank if you do not want to send email.
3
Type the IP address for the mail server or TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol) server, as required. Leave the server address blank if you do not want to send email or TFTP.
4
Type the Maximum number of events before sending to use the number of logged events as a trigger for sending email or TFTP. The value 0 (zero) disables this function. In addition to using a value greater than zero to trigger email or TFTP, you can also schedule email or TFTP by using the time settings, below.
5
Use the Time to send scheduled email fields in hours, minutes, and AM / PM to schedule daily email or TFTP transmissions. If used in conjunction with a Maximum number of events before sending value, the scheduling function will send email or TFTP even if the number of logged events has not reached the specified (non-zero) value.
6
When finished programming the required email or TFTP options, click Submit.
NOTE: When finished programming the Universal Interface, click Restart Communications in the Utilities section of the main menu to update the system data.
